With much sadness, we must announce the closing of The Cloth Diaper Project. The Board of Directors has decided to dissolve the 501(c)3 and cease all operations. With the changes that come with growing families, and relocations, The Board felt that we could no longer effectively serve our community. We thank each donor and volunteer whose generosity made it all possible to help so many local families! We tip our hats to each mother who eagerly turned to TCDP for the best solution for their babies.
Together we have worked to introduce families to cloth diapers and in turn each family has kept hundreds of diapers from the landfill, kept nasty chemicals away from their sweet babies, and freed up THOUSANDS of dollars to use for other essential needs.
It has been an amazing journey!
Continuing to Make a Difference
We are pleased to be able to continue to make a difference in Richmond through the donation of our assets to some really awesome local non-profit organizations that are helping familes in a HUGE way. In accordance with the IRS guidelines, all of our assets will go to other 501(c)3 organizations.
The Mama Bear Shop at VCU's Centering Pregnancy offers expectant and newly birthed patients a place to find maternity and baby items. It's one way of thanking Mama's for taking care of themselves and their baby. All of the diapers and accessories currently owned by TCDP are being donated to The Mama Bear Shop. Lots of Mamas are going to be blessed to find our cloth diapers in their shop! For more info on donating contact 804-628-1762.
Beds For Kids, Inc. provides for the welfare and well-being of children, by providing free beds to children in need. They have helped thousands of children with a most basic need that most of us take for granted. They have over 300 kids on their waiting list for a bed of their own. We are so excited to be able to donate to their mission to continue to help local children! Check them out and consider joining their cause!
Babywearing International of Central Virginia is dedicated to help teach and support new parents by providing education in safe babywearing as well as community and support to new parents. We are happy to be able to help BWI of Central VA to continue to encourage parents to hold their babies close.
Do You Have Diapers From Us?
As your baby outgrows your diapers, we ask that you honor your contract in not selling the diapers. Please pass them on to another family in need or take them to Mama Bear Shop at VCU for donation.
Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
